Description

These leather Haix Commander GTX Boots, are genuine German/Dutch Military issue. They are highly breathable and waterproof, offering comfort and stability in all weather conditions.

Air circulation is increased through the Climate System that pushes warm air out with each step and fresh air enters via vent holes on top of the boot assisting in moisture and temperature control.

A two-zone lacing system allows the boots to be laced up and taken off with speed and enables the wearer to adjust the fit on the foot and ankle to their comfort level.

For maximum waterproofing and resilience, the boots are lined with a 3-ply laminate Gore-Tex membrane and an integrated inner cushioning wedge for added comfort.

These Commander boots feature a Vibram rubber sole, that has a deep tread that is exceptionally slip-resistant, ensuring firm and solid traction on all types of terrains, ideal for military personnel and hikers.

Please note: These boots are used but in good serviceable condition. They are genuine issued surplus and fully functional but may show wear to the heel and sole, mud and dirt trapped in the tread, scuff marks, scratches or fading on the leather upper.

Good Service, Good Boots…

The boots arrived within two working days as is usually the case with Military Kit. They are classed Grade 1, but on examination I found only trace elements of mud in the tread of one of them, and a very minor scuff on one toecap, otherwise they are virtually unused;. I can only assume some recruit drew his boots and, returning from the QM Stores walked across the grass, kicked a stone and promptly bought himself out!

On receiving them I immediately trialled them with a walk up the mountain behind me. This consisted of metalled surfaces, rough, stony tracks, moorland and, for good measure, a wade through a stream to test the waterproof qualities of the boots (they are waterproof). Both up-and downhill they were comfortable with plenty of support. On return I gave them an initial polish with Kiwi and they are coming up well.

These boots are at least as good as, if not better than the Matterhorns I was issued with on a “Winter Op Grapple” in Central Bosnia in 1993/4.

Regarding size, some reviewers state that the sizes are true to them, others that you need to get the next size up. I opted for the latter, and find them perfect; people’s feet differ; you pays your money and takes your chances, but with Military Kit’s excellent returns, refund and exchange policy there’s nothing to worry about.

This is not the first item I have bought from this excellent firm; I doubt it will be the last!
