Traditional Army Pace Counting Beads. Used much by US forces especially. A handy aid to navigation.

Useful where calculating and keeping notice of your distance covered while moving over terrain. Issued to US Army Rangers and other SF US forces as standard item, is a version of these pace counter beads. (Someone once told me these were adopted by US soldiers from indigenous American Indians tribes, who used such a distance counting device over long distances covered. I've never been able to verify this for sure, but am aware other Amerindians tribes like the Incas used also simple knotted counting cords devices.)

Pace beads

This is a decent product at a reasonable price. It is quite long however (about 45cm) so will have to make some adjustments to ensure it works with my kit, will be fine after 5 mins of tinkering, and definitely better this way than too short!
